Taiwan (Taipei)- National Palace Museum, Sanxitang Teahouse, Shilin Night Market

Next morning
Getting ready for National Palace Museum
Thought of wearing something cute
It was a warm day

While we were in Shilin Station
Saw many shops selling breakfast
So we bought a few to try out
It was very tasty~
That was the first time I tried their 7-11 Iced Coffee
Too good!

National Palace Museum features both permanent and temporary exhibitions displaying amazing collections of paintings, calligraphy, rare books, historical documents and Chinese bronzes
There were many Buddhist artifacts which were inherited from the Forbidden City
There a were levels
Level 1 had rare books, Qing and Ming dynasty furniture, religious sculptures, and orientation gallery to give you an overview of dynasties
Level 2 had paintings, calligraphy, and an interactive area with videos
There was one electronic areas which allowed you to use your hand to zoom in the paintings
Besides, there was one place in the electronic areas where you could trace back the origin your Chinese surname (just use your hand to write your surname on the wall)
Level 3 had bronzes, Ming and Qing dynasty carvings, stunning jade collection covering weapons, teapots, jewellery and jade cabbage
Jade cabbage is a must see!
Level 4 had Sanxitang Teahouse, which offered tea, dim sum and many more.
There were no pictures of the exhibition areas as visitors were not allowed to take pictures inside (Someone stopped me the moment I took out my phone..efficient enough?)

After spending about 3 hours in the exhibition area
Decided to rest our legs and fill our tummy at Sanxitang Teahouse
As it was situated at the highest floor
You can actually see the whole surrounding of National Palace Museum when you are up there
Choose somewhere near the window to enjoy the beautiful scenery

We ordered set meals
Which looked and tasted pretty good especially the jelly!
Went for a stroll outside National Palace Museum after lunch
Took some photos
Sky was getting dark
It was time for our next destination-Shilin Night Market
Shilin Night Market was divided into 2 areas
One was a roofed food court located opposite the Jiantan MRT Station
Another stretched from Yang Ming Cinema to Daanan Road, Dadong Road and Wenlin Road
We had quite a hard time asking for the way to Shilin Night Market
Walked about 20 minutes to reach
I think we mixed up the 2 areas of the night market
Luckily there were many kind hearted people along the way who pointed the direction for us
We went to this steamboat place to fill our stomachs half full before trying other snacks
The drinks were free at that place
We shared the pots
The Taiwanese actually eat one pot by themselves
I wonder how they do that (the pot was so big!)
Did not take many pictures of Shilin Night Market
Only remembered that we tried the cranberry drinks, bubble milk tea
Finally
We went to a stall selling tou hua
Quite unique
They mixed tou hua with other stuffs like grass jelly, tapioca pearls, and barley
This was how it looked like
That's the end of the day
Goodnight~
