Taiwan (Taichung)- High Speed Rail, Sun Moon Lake, Bento for dinner

Enjoying this view while having our breakfast at New California Hotel
It was a park nearby the hotel
Felt so good to have breakfast next to a window
We had decided to take the High Speed Rail (HSR) to Taichung
From Taichung we planned to go to the Sun Moon Lake
Since it was a very famous tourist attraction
Wanted to take a look~
We first took the MRT to Banqiao Station
From Banqiao Station, we took HSR
Inside the HSR
Reached Taichung!
It only took 40 minutes from Taipei to Taichung
It was faster than I expected
Of course the fare was way higher
From Taichung Station
We had to take this bus to Sun Moon Lake
We bought the return ticket
It was an hour ride
Here are the scenery we saw on our way to Sun Moon Lake
The moment we reached Sun Moon Lake
I saw a bunch of tourists
There were people who kept on asking us to buy their package for the boat ride
Saying they would give a cheaper price for us
And that our Sun Moon Lake trip would not be complete without the boat ride
To be honest
It was really annoying
Guess it was just a touristy place after all (it was way different from other places we visited in Taiwan)~
The shop lot
After lunch at 7-11 (I had no idea why most restaurants were closed during lunch hour)
We went for a walk around the lake
It was a sunny day
Until I could not open my eyes while snapping pictures
Panorama shot of the lake
Backlight~
I like the tree~
One traditional looking boat
Walking down to a lower level to see the lake
Resting...and smiling?
Smileeee even though it was sunny~
Maybe it was because of the sunlight
I could not really enjoy myself during this one day trip in Sun Moon Lake
Or maybe we chose the wrong time to go (there might be a better view in the morning or evening)
Anyway
We only stayed about three hours because we had already bought our return ticket for HSR
When we went back to the bus stop for the bus to go back to Taichung Station (for HSR)
We saw a very very long queue
At first we thought they were waiting for different buses
Who knows
All of us was actually queuing for the same bus!
And the worst thing
There was only one bus for one time slot (the time was listed on the timetable and it was not frequent)!
After doing some maths
We thought that it would be impossible for us to catch our HSR if we wait for our turn
So we sold out all our return tickets for the bus and called for a cab instead
Finally
We made it to the Taichung Station on time!
Phewwwww~
This mountain became like this (the bald side) due to the earth quake which happened years ago

Sun was setting
Bye bye Taichung~
I really enjoy riding the HSR
It was fast and comfortable
There was wifi too!
When we reached Banqiao Station
We wanted to try the bento (heard the bento in Taiwan was really good!)
So we went around the station and saw one place with many people queuing up
Looked closely
It was selling bento
Price was reasonable for the large portion
It looked so tasty from the way it was packed
There were many choices for you too!
I had such a hard time eating this with chopsticks
Using it to eat the rice was already hard enough
Eating the chicken was even worse LOLs
As I seldom use chopsticks at home
Guess I really gotta use chopsticks more~
That was our one day trip to Taichung
What an experience!
