Taiwan (Taipei)- Breakfast at New California Hotel, Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall, National Library, Wufenpu
It was our first morning at New California Hotel
Breakfast was included too
We had a buffet style of breakfast
You can choose between making English breakfast or Chinese breakfast
I had bread and salad for breakfast every morning
Just did not have the appetite for congee or rice early in the morning
But one thing
Their fried ramen was very good (thumbs up!)
After breakfast
Decided to go to Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall
It has an impressive ceremonial changing of the guard, on the hour every hour, with the Taiwanese infantry, air force and navy alternating guard duties every four months
There are five display rooms which feature paintings, photographic displays, military uniforms, medals, manuscripts and artifacts that illustrate his life
It had been raining since morning
So we had to carry our umbrella
After climbing a flight of stairs to reach the memorial hall
Only then we realized that it was closed for renovation
We were like...Seriously?!
Why didn't you just put a big sign saying it was closed before the flight of stairs
At least we could save some of our energy for other stuffs
Nevermind
Good workout for us~
Since it was closed
We went to the national library which was just opposite the Freedom Square
Had to walk all the way back to the station
There was one junction with a sign pointing to the national library
When you are out of the station
Just walk straight few minutes and you will reach
Here we are at National Taiwan Library
You must be above 16 to enter
Also
You have to register to get a card if you are not a member
There were many floors
We only managed to stay in one floor and took some pictures
I could see both adults and students in the library
All so hardworking!
After coming out from the library
Decided to rest our legs for a while before going to other places
Had this coffee from 7-11 (walk outside the library followed by a flight of stairs)
After we were done
We went back to the station again and took the MRT to Houshanpi Station
Wanted to try Formosa Chang
And buy clothes at Wufenpu!
I realized that the Taiwanese did not talk in the MRT
It was quiet
I felt a little bit awkward when I talked inside the MRT
They had seats for the old people too
No one would dare to sit on it except the old people
When we arrived at Houshanpi Station
We went to Formosa Chang to try their braised pork rice
In my own opinion
It was the best braised pork rice that I had tried in Taiwan
Besides braised pork rice
They served other dishes like vege, Lu Dan (Stewed egg), Tong Sui (dessert)
All was really tasty
With reasonable price!
Then
Went to Wufenpu
Shop shop and shop!
Wufenpu is a wholesale market
The clothes, accessories, shoes, bags are inexpensive
It is a smaller version of Bangkok's Chatuchak
You are not allowed to try on the clothes
I bought so many things
Bags, clothes
For the clothes that I bought
They were all below NTD400
So so happy!!!
That's the end of the day
Shopped till I dropped
Night Night~
