Chiang Mai, Thailand-Art in Paradise 3D Art Museum, Wat Chedi Luang, Bye Chiang Mai
Good morning!
This is our third day in Chiang Mai
Going back the next day
So gotta spend every second wisely!
Since it was drizzling that morning
We decided to go to the 3D Art Museum first as it was in indoor
Which turned out to be the best decision
3D Art Museum features more than 130 3D paintings which is divided into 6 zones (underwater world, wildlife, Europe, East, Ancient Egypt, surreal arts and creatures millions of years ago)
It was painted by a South Korean named Jang Kyu Suk
Admission: 400 baht per person
Opening hours: 9am-8.30pm (ticket office closes at 7pm)
Address: No199/9, Changklan Road between Shangri La and Empress Hotel
Warning: This post is going to be picture-focus. Besides, the emphasis will be given to 3D Art Museum. Thus, feel free to click the X button if you are tired of seeing picture after picture.
Now
Let the pictures do the talking!

We spent more than 3 hours there
Feeling so exhausted after that
We definitely made the right decision to come here first because we would not have enough time and energy if we were to go to other attractions before the art museum
Our next stop was Wat Chedi Luang
It is the largest structure in ancient Chiang Mai but the top of the chedi was destroyed by either a 16th-century earthquake or by cannon fire during the recapture of Chiang Mai from the Burmese in 1775
Nobody knew exactly
Must see the ruined brick chedi behind the grand assembly hall
The base of the stupa has 5 elephant sculptures in which 4 are reproductions but the one on the far right is the original
You will see many monks chit-chatting with travelers under a tree
Admission is 40 baht per person
We met a very nice and friendly driver who would stop for us to buy some snacks at the 7-11 as we were all starving after spending so much time at the museum
And also two Nederlanders whom we could share our snacks and chit-chat with!
Impressive! |
Not forgetting a selfie of course! |
We wanted to try the kow soy, a local dish of wheat noodles in a rich curry broth at Wat Chedi Luang
After asking for directions from the staffs who spoke limited English
We were still unable to find it
Eventually
We gave up and went to Tha Pae Gate for lunch instead
This is because we had not explore the shop lots at Tha Pae Gate even though we came here for Sunday Night Market two days ago
We had McD for our late lunch
Surprisingly
The McD meals were quite expensive
But tasted better
I like the fries there!
They actually served rice with popcorn chicken! Pretty good! |
Black Canyon Coffee for iced coffee and milk tea |
A great way to spend the afternoon |
Later
We took the tuk tuk to Anusarn Market followed by Night Bazaar and Kalare Night Bazaar
Bought some dried mangoes and durians from Anusarn Market
If you like night life
There will be a ladyboy show in the evening
Thais really know how to enjoy! The trucks were playing Chinese songs! |
Most of the goods sold in those three markets mentioned mainly cater for tourists
So we were not so interested and left after staying for a short while
We went back to the Kad Na Mor for our dinner
The next day
Our last day in Chiang Mai
We decided to go and check out the Waroros/Warorot Market
Which is a popular market during the day
Trying the milk tea from a truck outside the Waroros Market |
Then
We went back to the Maya Mall for our last minute shopping
Bought a few bags from Naraya outlet
So happy!
After checking out from our hotel
We went to have our lunch at a cafe opposite our hotel
Ohhh forgot to tell you about this cafe
It served mouth-watering Thai and Western cuisine
The friendly owner spoke good English too
You will see many Caucasian there!
Must check out this place if you are staying at Tawan Hotel
Mango shake. So refreshing~ |
Fried rice |
Spaghetti Pad Sha. It tasted a bit like Aglio Olio but Thai style! |
Pad Se-eaw. My mum loves this! |
This is the cozy cafe where we had our lunch |
Flying back to Malaysia
Byee Chiang Mai
You will forever remain in my heart
It has been the best trip so far!
Lovely people lovely food
What's more to ask?
Now let me show you what we bought in Chiang Mai
The snacks |
Clothes, bags, hat, cap, souvenirs |
Will definitely go back to Thailand if I get a chance
Now back to reality!
