Aussie trip Part 6 - Snowy mountain

Day 9   (15th May) We said goodbye to our sheep in the morning Headed to the snowy mountain My mom and I were so scared that both of us could not stand the coldness there Since the word 'snowy' indicated how cold the weather's gonna be On the way to the snowy mountain Reached the Kosciuszko National Park after about an hour drive That place required entrance fee (expensive ! ) Sadly It was not winter (July) yet Since my mom and I went there in May Therefore The snow forming on the mountain was not thick enough Playing snow.  Hehe. Before my encounter with the REAL snow I always thought that snow was as soft as cotton candy (imagination) In reality, it's NOT You can slightly feel the pain when someone throws a snow ball at you But It's FUN playing with the snow Getting ready We decided to drive to a higher place since there was little snow down there The route was slippy and dangerous However We made it Mount

Day 8   (14th May) Reached Cooma in the evening Cooma was colder than expected The temperature was always less than 5 degree celcius It would be less than zero at night My uncle rent a farm house for the five of us for three days two nights The cottage looked simple from the outside Inside was very warm and cozy with the old British design There were three rooms and one bathroom We spent our days with the chicken, sheep, pony, cats and dog Time to begin our life as farmers I was so afraid to hold it.   Scared that it would scratch me. Feeding the sheep with bread This is epic! Met a new friend ! Sky's getting dark Indicator for dinner Chinese Restaurant at Cooma I won't forget this waiter He's so friendly and cheerful A lot of jokes happened here Although it's a Chinese Restaurant, those waiter and waitresses did not know how to differentiate the Chinese tea I remembered there's a tea called

Day 7   (13th May) On our way to Cooma From Sydney to Cooma, we had to pass through Goulburn, then Canberra The distance from Sydney to Cooma is about 400km, which is about 5 hours drive Nice scenery on the way to Goulburn We first dropped by at Goulburn to stay at the guesthouse for one night The guesthouse had everything in there We got a cheaper price since it's not winter yet (most people stay there for the snowy mountain) Goulburn was a small quiet country town which was very cold (compare to sydney) There's no night life at all It became a boring town after the sun set The temperature outside was nearly 0 degree celcius at night The guest house We had our dinner at Paragon Restaurant Steak and pasta.   The pasta had wine in it.   5 people sharing 3 plates. We shared our pasta I learned that there were so many types of pasta Vermicelli, spaghetti, fettuccine All in various shapes The next morning was freezing cold We forgot to take o

Day 4  (10th May)   Crumpet for breakfast.  This is a must try! Australian brings this wherever they go.  It tasted a bit like Marmite. Had breakfast in the morning Poached the egg in the microwave, spread the boysenberry jam on the toasted crumpet, spread the Vegemite on our bread, making chocolate drinks for ourselves Standing in front of the train which has two floors We took the train to the city after breakfast That was the best day because of the warm weather It's 22 degree celcius First, we went to this historical building named after Queen Victoria There's nothing much in the building except seeing the clock which was repaired in Ipoh, Malaysia long ago The Queen Victoria's building Saw this adorable girl on the street Picnic on the grass at Hyde Park Lying on the grass First time lying on the grass One thing was weird I could'nt find any ants on the grass I lay down comfortably on the grass without having
