Australia Part 10- Pancakes, Bilpin Fruit Bowl, Sydney Fish Market

Day 14 (3/1/16)
Our morning was greeted with freshly made pancakes and fruits
Pancake has always been my favorite
It was indeed a happy morning for everyone!
After the satisfying breakfast
We drove for about one hour to Bilpin
Bilpin is a small town on the historic Bells Line of Road in the City of Hawkesbury local government area in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney
It consists of charming orchards and fruit and vegetables stalls offering all local varieties of stone fruit in season and autumn apples, combined with numerous charming coffee stops all featuring homemade apple pies, jams, local honey and the proudly made Bilpin Apple Juice and Apple Cider Vinegar
It is now known as a tourist attraction, where visitors can pick their own fruit in an orchard
Since many orchards were closed on Sunday, we decided to go to Bilpin Fruit Bowl, which was a family run orchard
It is said to consist of approximately 10,000 fruit trees, 5,000 stone fruit and 5,000 apple trees
It will charge you an entrance fee of $2.50 and you will have to pay $/kg for the fruits you pick
Besides, you are not allowed to eat the fruits in the orchard and you will be charged if you pick an unripe fruit or fruit which is not in the season (eg, apple during summer)
Many rules huh~
Anyways, it was summer during our visit, so peaches were in season!
The vegetables farm
I had no idea what's the vege underneath!
Since it rained the day before and was still drizzling while we were there, the road was very muddy
So, don't wear nice shoes as it will get very dirty!
The price they charged for the peaches we picked was quite expensive compared to a grocery store
I even saw many rotten peaches on the ground
And I wondered why the staffs did not smile at all~
However, you pay for the experience you get
It was my first time picking fruits
So it was a fun experience!
We bought an apple pie back for dessert after meal
It was really good!
Will definitely go back to Bilpin, but another orchard!
It's lunchtime! Had a really heavy lunch. Look at the amount of chips they gave! It's very worth the price!
Scenery we saw while driving back. Would stop by at the Sydney Fish Market!
Sydney Fish Market is the largest market of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and the third largest seafood market in terms of variety in the world.  Approximately 2,700 crates (around 50-55 tonnes) of the freshest possible seafood is auctioned each day through the computerised Dutch auction system to approximately 160 buyers.  The incredible variety of seafood is sourced from individual fishermen, co-ops, fishing businesses and aquaculture farms in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific Region with over 100 species available to buyers daily.
Oysters~
Bought salmon back from the Fish Market to cook salmon curry~
Will be going on another big trip tomorrow
Stay tuned!
